Nick Cannon In 'A Lot Of Pain'

Mariah Carey says her husband, who has been moved from Colorado to L.A. after experiencing mild kidney failure, 'in good spirits.'

On Wednesday, Nick Cannon made headlines when his wife, Mariah Carey, confirmed on Twitter that he had been hospitalized for kidney failure. Now she's updating fans on his condition, which seems to be improving.

"As always, he's in good spirits considering the situation," she told People.com. "We are hopeful that he'll be 100 percent as soon as possible." While little is known about what caused Cannon to go into mild kidney failure, Carey added "the situation is not easy" and that Cannon is stable but "in a lot of pain."

"We really appreciate everybody's love and support," she continued.

Cannon had remained rather quiet since the news broke of his hospitalization, but did share on Twitter that he was being moved from an Aspen, Colorado, hospital to Los Angeles. "Currently being [transferred] to a hospital in LA. Thank you all for all your love, prayers and concern," he wrote. "You know me ... I will be a'ight."

Carey and Cannon, along with their twins, Moroccan and Monroe, had been vacationing in the Colorado ski town when the "America's Got Talent" host was hospitalized. "This is us in the hospital — role reversal; Last year it was me attached to the machines (after having dembabies) and Nick was there with me through it, and now here we are," she wrote on Wednesday, including a photo of herself visiting him in the hospital. "We're trying to be as festive as possible under the circumstances but please keep Nick in your thoughts because this is very painful."
