Omar Shelbaya has been appointed Chief Distribution Officer and has 20 years of sales management experience within the financial services sector.

Prior to joining Takaud, Mr. Shelbaya was the Sales Director for Friends Provident International for the Middle East and Africa.

He previously held key distribution and sales managerial roles at Allianz and Zurich International Life. He holds a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from Cairo University.

Ebrahim Khalil Ebrahim has been appointed Chief Marketing & Communications Officer. Mr. Ebrahim is an international marketing and communications professional and joins from Thuraya Satellite Telecoms Co. where he was the Vice President, Marketing & Corporate Communications. Previously, he held key marketing roles in ARIG, the Arab Insurance Group, and Bahrain's national telecoms provider, Batelco. He holds an M.Sc. in Communications from Stirling University, UK.

Mike Lonergan, Regional Sales Director (Corporate), joins from Friends Provident International where for the last 2 years he was Corporate Solutions Director responsible for some of the largest companies in the region. Prior to this, he spent 20 years in the Corporate Pensions market based in London and advised many FTSE100 companies on their Employee Benefit programmes.

Takaud's CEO Mr. Abdallah Kubursi, commented, "We are delighted to make this announcement as it strengthens our talented management team, which is focused on supporting the pending product rollout of Takaud's pioneering savings plans, the first offered by a specialist regional provider."
