Utah ranks 6th among states for highest gas prices

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) ? A new report by AAA shows that Utah's average gas price dropped 4 cents from last month, but remains 32 cents higher than a year ago.

AAA reported Tuesday that the average price in Utah for a gallon of regular gasoline is $3.71. That's the sixth-highest price in the nation, behind Alaska, California, Connecticut, Hawaii and New York.

The national average price dropped 38 cents from last month's AAA report to $3.44 a gallon, 2 cents higher than a year ago.

Hawaii has the highest average price at $4.19. Missouri is enjoying the lowest average price at $3.10 a gallon.
